TRAIN RACE!
Join us at Frisco Inferno on October 8th for “The Great Cardboard Train Race”!
Win for design or win for speed! Creativity and teamwork will combine to make this wild and wacky event the crowd-pleaser of the day as your team presents its train “creation” for judging and then maneuvers it through an obstacle course.
Kindergarten through adults may enter one of four divisions! Win a trophy and prizes!
Just drop off your entry form at the Rogers Historical Museum and pick up your official “train kit” which will include a ready to assemble cardboard train and instructions! Creativity and originality are encouraged!
1. Grab three friends or three family members who like to have a good time.
2. Enter your four- person team by completing the entry form.
3. Pick up your official “train kit” (no cardboard will be issued without registration form). Available till October 1st.
4. Create your very own amazingly cool train following the general guidelines provided.
5. Show up on Saturday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m. ready to race!
Location:
Event starts and ends at the Rogers Historical Museum on the corner of 2nd and Cherry Streets.
Event times on Saturday, October 8:
10:00 a.m. – Deliver your train to the racecourse check-in table for creativity judging and Team
check-in and race pairings. Leave your train on display on for the judges to look over and the crowd
to admire.
10:15-10:30 a.m. – Creative Style Judging
10:30 a.m. – Obstacle course orientation (ALL team members must be present) & racing begins.
TRAIN SPECIFICATIONS:
• The word “FRISCO” must appear somewhere on the train.
• Finished train does NOT require operating wheels.
• Holes, poles, pipes or dowels can be used to carry the train.
RULES:
• Teams consists of four members. With the exception of the Family Teams, all team member ages must fall within the division entered.
• Your team’s race time will be recorded as the time at which the back of the train, as well as four team members, cross the finish line.
• Pairings will be made the day of the race. Challenges will be allowed by mutual consent.
• The winners in each race division will be the team with the fastest time. In the event of a tie, there will be a tie-breaking race.
• Team member costuming may be included as part of the design and creativity judging if team members are present at the time judging takes place.
PRIZES:
Creative Style Winners (one team per division) - Trophies
Top Speed Winners (one team per division) - Trophies and four tasting tickets to Frisco Inferno Barbecue Competition & Tasting.
