You found the Victory Theater!
The Victory Theater was designed by A.O. Clarke and built at a cost of $35,000. It opened on December 5, 1927 and featured a fireproof projection room. The first sound pictures in Rogers were shown here on Sept. 30, 1929. It would later become the first building in Rogers to have air conditioning. The building was a community gathering place before closing in the 1970s. In the 1980s and 1990s, The Old Theater Flea Market was housed here. On November 2, 2000, after a three-year renovation, the Victory Theater opened as the new home for the Rogers Little Theater. The City of Rogers purchased the Victory Theater in 2008. Exterior renovations were done on the building in 2013 and 2021. An extensive renovation of the interior was undertaken in 2023. The theater is currently closed as repairs are made to damage caused by the May 26, 2024 tornado. |
