Museum Breaks Ground on Building
More than 130 people gathered to celebrate the beginning of renovation to the Hailey Ford building at the Museum's Ground Breaking ceremony on April 7, 2016. Speakers included Mayor Greg Hines, Karen Minkel of the Walton Family Foundation, Kathleen Dickerson of the Museum Commission and John Burroughs, Museum Director.
The historic Hailey Ford building will be a vital part of the expanded Rogers Historical Museum campus and will house exhibits, a Museum workshop and staff offices. Most recently home to the Rogers Morning News, the Hailey Ford building will be renovated and returned to its original, modern façade. Thanks to a grant from the Walton Family Foundation's Design Excellence Program, project architects for the building's renovation are De Leon and Primmer out of Louisville, Kentucky. The Rogers Museum Foundation has a capital campaign underway to complete funding for the project.
